UNGA 2025: Better Together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights

In 2025, DigitA was proud to participate in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), at the Spring Meetings from April 21st to 26th. Joining global leaders, policymakers, investors, and innovators shaping conversations about the future of economies and technology worldwide. He represented the United Nations Development Programme’s timbuktoo Africa initiative. There, he highlighted timbuktoo’s approach to strengthening Africa’s startup ecosystem through thematic innovation hubs and strategic ecosystem coordination across the continent.

Later in the year, the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80), held in September 2025, brought together global leaders, policymakers, investors, and innovators to drive conversations around sustainable development, economic transformation, and the future of innovation.

He moderated the timbuktoo Africa panel titled “Africa's Innovation Reset: Policy, Capital & Founders in Action.” The discussion unpacked the urgent need for stronger regulatory frameworks that enable innovation, unlock capital flows, and empower founders to scale solutions across African markets.

Oswald also joined the Sierra Leone Innovation Showcase panel, where he spoke on “The Role of the Private Sector in Building a Digital Future.” The session emphasised that meaningful progress requires alignment between governments, innovators, and private sector actors to move beyond ideas toward measurable economic impact.

He was also interviewed by international journalist Stephanie Busari at the Global Africa Business Initiative. In the conversation, he shared a clear perspective on what Africa needs to become a global engine of innovation: not just ideas or talent, but enabling systems.
